    Awww, come on! Your teaser hede said when the recorder “fails.” Heck, it’s SO much more stressful when you didn’t/couldn’t take ANY notes at all and then realize you just screwed yourself because you also forgot to hit the “on” button than it is when you intentionally don’t bring a machine. Believe me…lmao.

    oh, and of course you tell your editor/desk mates (if they bother to ask!) that the recorder “failed” (not that you forgot to turn it on!)

    Definitely showing this to my teacher at school, who believes that is “lazy journalism” to use a recorder. I argue that my quotes are more accurate when I use one…. he doesn’t agree with me.
